Youth Guidance Mentoring Academy is awarded grant from Grand Harbor Community Outreach Program

On Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 Grand Harbor Community Outreach Program representatives Jack Wittpenn and Grant Withers presented Executive Director of Youth Guidance Mentoring Academy, Felix Cruz with a check for $15,000.00. Mr. Cruz stated, “Grand Harbor Community Outreach Program has been a longtime supporter of the services for our children and families here at Youth Guidance Mentoring Academy. We are very fortunate and thankful to have the support of GHCOP and would like to thank the Board of Directors and all of Grand Harbor community members that make this grant possible.”

Dales Jacobs, Vice president of Philanthropy at Grand Harbor Community Outreach Program commented, “We are very pleased to support Youth Guidance Mentoring Academy. GHCOP is committed to helping disadvantaged youth obtain a stable and productive life, and we believe in the mentoring programs at Youth Guidance.”

Grand Harbor Community Outreach is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the unmet needs of groups and individuals in Indian River County. With no employees and with the generous support of our Corporate Sponsors to cover our operating expenses, our member donors are assured that 100% of their contributions will fund approved grants to non-profit agencies providing services to needy residents of Indian River County. The Philanthropy Committee Carefully reviews over 35 local non-profit agencies to ensure they are operating efficiently and providing effective, impactful programs.

Since its founding in 2001, Grand Harbor Community Outreach has raised and distributed nearly $4.0 million into the local community to help in the areas of education, health, jobs and human services.

This collective endeavor which involves 400 donors, more than 100 volunteers and 20 corporate sponsors is transforming lives, strengthening families and rebuilding communities. The focus is on providing hope and help to our neighbors in need so they can lift themselves out of poverty.
