Stringent safety precautions are in place and include sanitization stations, social distancing, temperature checks, limited group sizes, and a mandatory mask policy. Students benefit from an intimate teacher-to-student ratio, and the number of students in the facility at one time is limited to 24 within Youth Guidance’s 8,600 square-foot building.

Group Mentoring programs for the Fall Semester include cooking at Community Church, home economics, bike repair with Bike Walk Indian River County, cosmetology, boat mechanics with Youth Sailing Foundation, gardening with Keep Indian River Beautiful, and karate at Bamboo Dojo.

Youth Guidance Mentoring Academy serves 250 low-income students ages 5-18 each year. Most of these kids are being raised by single parents and many are uncertain where their next meal will come from.

To keep the Learning Center operational in its current capacity through the end of the calendar year, Youth Guidance needs to raise an additional $10,000.
